Despite the sweltering heat, we hope your daily life is filled with joyful moments, like a cool breeze.May 20 is designated as %u2018Together Day%u2019 to promote mutual understanding and respect between Korean citizens and foreign residents, and to build a society where everyone can live in harmony. This year marked the 18th anniversary of the celebration, held under the slogan %u201cDream Together, Korea Soars Higher.%u201d The event brought together over 500 Korean and foreign nationals, including diplomatic representatives from 18 countries, for a meaningful occasion to share the values of mutual respect and harmony.To become a global leading nation suited to this multicultural era, the Korea Immigration Service holds regular council meetings for the protection of human rights and the promotion of the interests of foreign nationals. We also listen carefully to the voices of socially vulnerable foreign nationals and are committed to addressing their practical concerns.To support the stable settlement of overseas Koreans, we are actively reviewing measures to integrate the two types of residence status currently granted based on nationality. We have also established the %u2018Support Center for Overseas Koreans%u2019 to provide social adaptation assistance and integration education for those living in Korea. Additionally, to improve communication skills among foreign workers, we are developing customized, field-oriented Korean language textbooks to be used as specialized materials in the social integration program.
